The IRS issues an ITIN to people who earn money in the United States and do not have a Social Security number, so they can file a return. We process the application in the office; you do not mail your passport anywhere.

For adults

• Passport, or birth certificate with a consular ID (matrícula)

• A US or foreign driver’s license, voter card or visa, if you have one

For dependents

• Vaccination record for children up to 4

• School record with a photo for children 5 and older

Every document must be current. Bring originals.
